The spirit of Christmas represents so many wonderful things: peace, joy, love, reunion, happiness, to name
just a few. Traditions are embraced and family becomes a focal point in every celebration. It is no wonder
that many couples consider the holiday season to be the ideal time to celebrate a union which evokes so many
of the same feelings... their wedding.

Planning a Christmas wedding can be enjoyable and deeply gratifying. Family traditions can be
discreetly intertwined with almost every detail of the planning, making the wedding a personal and incredibly
emotional experience. The beautiful holiday hues and the multitude of lights that embrace the season make
decorations strikingly elegant and memorable. If you are planning a holiday wedding, consider the following
ideas when creating your own Christmas Wedding Wonderland!

Decoration
It isn't difficult to find an event facility that decorates their space for the holidays. While searching
for the perfect space to hold your wedding gala, find out about the most beautifully dressed event facilities
in your city. If you are beginning your planning a year in advance, scout these locations on your own. The more
the event facility will do on their own, the less you will have to invest in decorating your event. Just remember
to verify that their idea of tasteful holiday decorating is in keeping with yours.
If your favorite event facility does not do any holiday decorations, turn this to your advantage by designing
your wedding backdrop from items donated by both the families. In lieu of the gift table, a Christmas
tree decorated with family ornaments can serve as a convenient and wonderful place for guests to drop off
their gifts. Lovely deep green mini-cypress trees can serve as centerpieces when surrounded by a snowdrift
of white hydrangeas and scabiosa. Wrap small favor boxes in different color Christmas paper, tie them
in ribbon, and leave them under the miniature trees for guests to discover. Or, photocopy Christmas carol music
and wrap the sheets into small cones. Fill them with candy, cookies, or any other treat a sweet tooth would adore!
Traditional decorations such as candied fruit, garlands, ribbons, and pineapples can welcome guests on mantles and
banisters. And of course, don't forget to welcome your guests with a beautiful wreath that beckons them inside.
Color Scheme
Embrace the color RED! If there is any color which will pop out at your guests,
red indisputably would be the champion. Tastefully incorporating it into your wedding design palette will complement
any space and decor. Classic holiday colors of red, white, and green join forces to create dramatic and elegant
centerpieces for any table. Adorning tables with sprigs of holly is always a beautiful traditional decorative element.
Candles, Candles, Candles!
As the wind brings on a chill and the sun leaves us earlier and earlier each day, candles bring us both the warmth
and light that we crave. The glow of candlelight will only enhance the festive flair of any room, so keep it in mind
as an integral aspect while designing your Christmas wedding. For a complete guide on incorporating candles into your
event, read our recent article.
Focus on Family
Although the spotlight will always shine brightly on you as the blissful couple, sharing the limelight with
your family is a great "theme" to bring into the celebration. Special speeches, prayers, and thoughts can be
incorporated into your event both verbally and non-verbally.
Don't Forget Santa!
Okay, so each of us has her own thoughts on whether Santa exists or not, but all of us can agree on one thing:
he's certainly welcome at any party. Don't forget to invite him to yours!
